Getting Ready
Well I have been keeping myself very busy lately. I recently received my report card and I am excited to say that my hard work these past few months has earned me a 4.0 GPA. I am also excited about performing in the school play, "Pirates and Petticoats" next week as Maya Ugly. Arrrrrrrr! Last week I worked on letters to send out to all my family and friends asking for donations and their support. I had just finish signing and labeling all 320 letters, and I was feeling pretty good about it too, when my mom informed me that I had made a serious mistake. Now...at this point I was so ready to mail the letters that I thought I'd let this typo go. That is, until she informed me that I can't misspell my own country. United Stated apparently doesn't cut it. So my this coming weekend will be more hours of signing, stamping, and folding. Oh well! I know it will be worth it in the end. I am talking to the School Board tomorrow night and want to ask for their support and share with them my exciting plans. I am also planning on doing a "Chili for Chile" fundraiser booth during the Townsend Christmas Stroll and possibly doing a dinner fundraiser later on. On the AFS front, I received an email last week and learned that I was officially accepted by the Chilean Exchange Program. Apparently, I have to first be accepted by the AFS USA program and then accepted into the AFS Chile program...sooo great news there! I am very excited for the coming months and the clock is ticking. I can't wait!!!!!! Sarah Hamburg
